Credits are the unit of usage on Monorail AI. Every time you generate content — whether text, an image, a video, or audio — credits are deducted from your balance based on the AI model used and the amount of content produced. Understanding credits helps you choose the right model for the job and make the most of your plan.

Credit basics

  • Credits are included with every plan. Freemium accounts receive a limited number of credits; paid plans include 1,000–5,000 credits per month depending on your tier.
  • Credits refresh each billing period on paid plans, starting from your renewal date.
  • Unused credits do not roll over to the next billing period.
  • Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Additional credits are available to purchase as one-time packs. Lifetime deals with permanent credit access are also available on the pricing page.

What affects credit cost?

The number of credits a generation consumes depends on three factors:
  1. Which AI model you select. Premium and flagship models cost more credits per unit than standard or lightweight models.
  2. How much content is generated. Text is measured in tokens, audio in seconds or characters, and images in megapixels or image count. More output means more credits.
  3. Whether you use a Pro or standard model. Pro-tier models from each provider are generally more capable and more credit-intensive.

The tables below show credit rates for the most widely used models on each provider. Rates are shown as input rates unless otherwise noted.
OpenAI models cover text generation, image generation, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and video. GPT-4o and GPT-4.1 are the most popular choices for general-purpose text tasks.
